Arthur Cole, affectionately known as “Butch,” was born in Houston, Texas. He was born 3rd out of five children. As a young boy, Arthur attended A.B. Anderson Elementary, Charles Richard Drew Junior High, and George Washington Carver Senior High. He participated in football and basketball and was a great athlete.
Arthur accepted God early in his life and rededicated his life to spreading God’s Word. He was a Deacon before becoming an ordained minister at Greater Rising Star Baptist Church in Eagle Lake, TX in 1988.
After working for over 20 years as a paralegal, Arthur became a licensed welder and truck driver.
Arthur was a caring father, brother, son, cousin, grandfather, brother-in-law, and friend. He enjoyed reading, preaching, cooking, gardening, and fishing.
He leaves to mourn his wife, Mary Etta; stepson, Melquin; three grandchildren: Markesha, Deja, and Avant; eight great-grandchildren: Jakerah, Johari, Azura, Josiah, Makiaya, Akeem, Dallas, and D'troit; one brother, Dennis (Melanie); one sister, Denise; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
