Anthony Craig Lemon was born in Montgomery, Texas to his loving mother, Ida Mae Lemons. He was one of three children. At the age of 5, Anthony moved to Houston, Texas. He was a proud graduate of Phillis Wheatley High School, Class of 1979, where he played football.
Anthony had an astonishing career as a Deputy with the Harris County Sheriff's Office (HSCO) where he served for 29 years. While at HCSO, he was committed to creating community initiatives for the youth, senior citizens, and educating families about self-defense. His work was recognized by the mayor, Forward Times, ABC 13, and a plethora of platforms. He won “Officer of the Year” award 2 years in a row.
Anthony received his Bachelor of Theology in Religious Education in 2018, a Bachelor of Religious Counseling in 2019, and a Master of Theology in Religious Education in 2019, all from Gospel Ministry Outreach Theological Institute. He was passionate about his ministry, Wilderness Workers of God, where he produced a monthly event by the name of “The 2nd Seat” which allowed ministers to have a platform to preach. Anthony loved the Lord and was a man that walked by faith in all that he did. He will be missed dearly by everyone he loved.
Sadly, Anthony passed away on March 21, 2024. He was a family man, and loved his mother, Ida Mae Lemons. He was also the proud father to La'Torria "Jazz" Lemon, Chastiny Lemon, and Olivia “Livi” Lemon. He also leaves behind a bonus sister, Denise Jones; eight beautiful aunts; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
